When I think of charity fashion events fashion shows immediately come to mind but this idea I came across online feels like pure genius. Now I love fashion shows as much as you, but they’re over so quickly & you walk away with well, nothing.
Over the last few weeks, Vintage with Love has called on the women of Jozi, designers & boutiques to dust off their gently worn items & donate it to be sold at this pop-up event happening this weekend at The Forum, Bryanston.
The brains behind this idea are those of Jacquie Myburgh Chemaly (ex Elle & Visi) & Leigh Or with a background in education & fundraising. Proceeds will go to a deserving list of charities such as The Shine Centre, Reading Eggs and Roedean – Yeoville Community School Literacy Enrichment Project.
I haven’t been there in a while but this was just the refresher I needed to remember what a stunning venue The Forum is.
So what can you expect? Quite a bit. Here are some of my picks…
Chloe, Emporio Armani and Chanel
Hayley Owen in Alyce Design and Christian Louboutin (there was a bit of a celeb fashion shoot last week!)
Lerato in Alexander Wang and Jimmy Choo
There’ll be coffee, bubbly & cake on hand to easy you into the shopping (like we need it!) & I was also so excited to see that Pippa J, who has done a few guest posts here on Wiscellaneous will be on hand to do some personal styling as well.
What a stylish way to give back!
Tickets are R50 at the door or via Webtickets. More info on their Facebook page.
Have a good weekend you guys!
