I know, I know… You didn’t think it was possible, but my ‘hood just got a tad cooler…The Neighbourgoods rooftop (73 Juta Street, Braamfontein) will now be put to even better use & converted into an open air cinema once a month. Yes! You can now watch movies under the stars!
Expect crisp Autumn Jozi air, quirky people, oh & gourmet burgers, hot chocolate, popcorn & comfy bean bags.
The inaugural screening will be “The Angel’s Share” — Ken Loach’s comedy drama from the official selection of Cannes Film Festival 2012. Here’s the trailer:
Tickets are R120 (a little steep I’d say but I’d still go), including a bottomless popcorn and a bean bag. Add R50 if you’re bringing your own cooler box. Dress warm & come early – there’ll be a DJ to get you in the mood. Grab your tickets here or at the door.
There’s no indication yet about what the follow up dates and timings will be except that it will be monthly. For more info on Air Cinema Club catch up with them on Facebook & Twitter.
I heart Jozi!
