I needed no coercion to spend an afternoon at the Saxon last week especially not to talk about spa treatments and handbags!
I’d been to the hotel a few times before for high tea & drinks but this time we met at the villas, part of the hotel I didn’t even know existed. And apparently I wasn’t supposed to know as they’re meant to be super secluded for the ultimate in luxury. Built just before the World Cup, each villa is 200 square meters with a separate lounge & dining area, guest (2nd) bathroom, Bang & Olufsen HD television, a fully equipped butler’s kitchen with dedicated butler service (apparently they’ll even run a bath for you!) & a private balcony with endless views over the lush northern suburbs.
I also learned that the hotel also keeps a staff to guest ration of 5 to 1 respectively. It’s really just the epitome of opulence…
Mokgadi Matlhako with the toiletries bags & shopper bag she’s designed for the Saxon
Anyway, I digress. As expected the Saxon are all about extra touches so no surprises when they mentioned they’re launching their own spa bags, a task commissioned to JustKadi, South African Mokgadi Matlhako, now living in New York. Mokgadi’s bags are beautiful it’s easy to see why they chose her.
In addition to the 3 bags pictured above, there’ll also be a travel-size suitcase, perfect as hand luggage for those who have shopped a little too much and can’t possibly squeeze their bag close at the end of their holiday – who hasn’t been there!
Here’s a peak at the rest of the villa (I couldn’t resist!)…
We were spoilt with spa vouchers, so keep a lookout for my review soon…
Have a great week ahead!
