Portugal in pictures…

Life regularly gets to this point.

It’s been a little while since I’ve been on holiday and the next one isn’t quite in sight. So with the best of intentions & to make myself feel a little better I look back on vacation pictures and inevitably it makes me feel worse.

Here’s why I’m missing Portugal…

Portugal is beautiful everywhere you look. This was at a train station…*

I love this magazine & cigarette kiosk’s efficient use of space! (nope my OCD doesn’t take a break when I’m on holiday!) 🙂 *

The Tagus River, alongside Praca do Comercio in the centre of Lisbon’s CBD. Don’t let those pretty blue skies fool you. It was cold!*

Subway art – I took this pic within minutes of arriving in Lisbon…

Elevator de Santa Justa – I regret that we didn’t go up but the queues were always crazy!

Padrão dos Descobrimentos (Monument to the Discoveries) – built in 1940 was meant to be temporary – imagine that!

An afternoon’s aimless walking was well rewarded when we got to the top of this hill…

Café Majestic, the oldest coffee shop in Porto, first built in 1921

Livraria Chardron or Livraria Lello  – one of the oldest book stores in Portugal. The interior is magnificent – worth the queue…

There are endless street artists, all with different (& amazing!) tricks to show off. Separately I love Portugal’s cobble stone streets…

Outside of one of the prisons getting ready for visiting hours…

I’m not a dog person but I couldn’t resist this cuteness (& feel a bit bad for him)

View over the Douro River & Ponte Luis I (Luis I Bridge) from the cable car on our last day

*sigh* Best I get planning (& saving!)!
