I stumbled across The Big Blog Exchange when it 1st opened early March & thought it was the coolest thing I’d seen in a while.
I watched the entries flow in as the weeks went on & I started getting really excited for the bloggers at this chance in a lifetime. And it really is. Imagine swopping blogs, lives & locations with one of 16 bloggers around the world for 10 days. Then there’s the £500 spending money. Crazy.
A month in & after much deliberation I entered. And honestly the only thing I wasn’t up for was the canvassing. It’s tiring & spammy (sorry!) so I’ve really tried to do it tactfully (here’s hoping). I have been so, so overwhelmed at the support people have shown me. Seriously, thank you.
Voting closes on Monday the 15th of April. The top 25 blogs in each of the 4 regions will then go through to a jury & be narrowed down to 14 blogs. Then (& I really like this) an additional 2 blogs will be chosen as “wild cards” not based on votes but purely on the quality of the blogs themselves & the passion in the motivation submitted.
I’ve discovered so many cool South African blogs through The Big Blog Exchange & given that blogging is relatively new & underdeveloped here I’m super proud that we’re featuring so well currently:
- Worldwide, 4 South African blogs are in the top 100
- In our region (Middle East & Africa) 19 of the top 25 blogs are South African!
