Things are about to get rough with the Ford Ranger Odyssey
So I’m guessing you haven’t heard about the Ford Ranger Odyssey. Me neither, till a few weeks ago. I was trawling my timeline & clicked through to the competition & immediately knew I had to enter.
I’m not really a “roughing it” kind of girl so I’m sure you’re wondering why. Because the final stage of this “competition” (I put that in inverted commas because it’s not a race) sees 10 participants fly to Kenya and 4×4 their way through 6 African countries in 21 days! How awesome is that?!
I’ve confided in my friends (it’s really not something I’m proud of) that I haven’t really done any Africa travel. Yes, that means I haven’t even been to Mauritius, Lesotho, Vic Falls, none of that though I’ve done plenty of travel to the East & Europe. Obviously this legacy of mine must end!
Let me back track (this isn’t in the bag yet). The final 10 to embark on this trip will be chosen from 20 (for which I’ve made the cut!) who’ll be spending this weekend at a boot camp at De Rust out at Harties where we’ll be judged on the following criteria:
- Four-wheel drive skills
- Outdoor survival abilities
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to interact with others
- Mental and physical stamina
- Social media interactive skills
Of course I’ll be blogging about my experience as it unfolds so for that, live footage & to see the other 19 contestants, check out the Ford Odyssey site.
Winners i.e. the final 10 will be announced the very next day Monday the 3rd of June, so thankfully, not too much suspense!
Ladies your 4x4ing/camping tips are so welcome! Wish me luck!
