As if I’m not already in lust with city living and specifically The Maboneng Precinct there’s a recent awesome addition that’s upped its cool factor quite a bit in my books – and this time it’s one for the boys…
The Maboneng Precinct which by the way means ‘Place of Light’, is the gem of Jhb CBD and its residents have fast evolved into an enviable self-sufficient community boasting alongside their oh-so-interesting living spaces an array of quirky restaurants/coffee shops, a laundromat, clothing boutiques, a cinema, a tattoo parlour, a yoga centre and spa and now even a barber. An integrated urban neighbourhood indeed.
Revolution Barber opened its doors in April 2012 and walking in, you wouldn’t quite know it’s a barber right away and because the place is such a marvel to the eye. You can choose your preferred cut (scissor, clipper or style) and even get a shave while you’re at it – all for well below salon prices (cash only but at these prices you don’t mind too much!).
There’s and arcade game (remember those!) and cool music on the go with a couch to sink into if like me, you’re the doting, waiting wife. The hours are the most convenient I’ve ever heard of: Sunday to Friday 9am to 9pm – very impressive!
On the day were we there they were also doing a pop up store in the salon with urban street wear label Poor Little Rich Kids.
No excuse not clean up now boys 🙂
