A couple of weeks ago when the well i am team got in touch & asked me to join a panel of bloggers doing the #wia100HealthyDays challenge it felt like nothing short of divine intervention.
Of course I did initially think of reasons not to do it (those are so easy to come up with!) the main one being Ramadaan but I ultimately decided it’s just never going to be as good a time to get healthy than right now. There’ll always be excuses & I’m just feeling so tired of these extra kg’s I’m lugging around.
So before I could change my mind I agreed and went off to Dischem to get all my measurements taken – height, weight, BMI, cholesterol, glucose – the usuals really. I do my Vitality health checked religiously every year so none of these numbers were news to me. At the end of the challenge we’ll redo this to check the progress.
The premise is the same as #100HappyDays you’ve seen people do earlier in the year (but with a lot more longevity & results – here’s hoping!). In a nutshell the brand call themselves a Wellness Revolution saying “100 healthy days to transform your body and change your life”.
So here’s how the challenge works:
The regular entry fee for the well i am Challenge starts at R499 and gets you a Health Box (see my previous review here), your Dischem screenings x 2, Dischem & Reebok vouchers, Biogen vitamins & online members only support (I’m not doing this justice, check out the freebies here).
The Health Box is pretty hefty & packed (& I mean packed!) with goodies to help us along the way (I’ll give you a sneak peek into the box soon!). There are loads of prizes up for grabs but the thing that I like about this challenge & the format is that I’m ultimately up against myself. The way I see it, if I lose just a few kgs & feel firmer & healthier – that’s really the only prize I’m after.
So far being healthy in Ramadaan hasn’t been easy at all – at all! That’s all over next week so I plan on refocusing and starting an exercise regime. I’ve found something super inexpensive & closer to home – details soon!
